WORLD IN PRAYER
Praying for the world means, first of all, being aware
of what’s happening in international news. It means
sharing in God’s loving compassion for all. It means
praying week in and week out, when the news is full of
great joy and devastating sorrow, boringly ordinary or
startlingly unexpected. It means stretching ourselves to
pray with love and respect for those we hate, and those
we merely dismiss. It means being honest enough to admit
that we often want call God to account in times of great
evil or disaster – and even honest enough to whine on
the days when we just don’t feel like praying. It means
taking the risk of making mistakes (and yes, we’ve made
them), and trusting that God will honor our longing for
all to be well with every single nation, every single
person, even when our words come out all wrong.
I
wonder how many are thinking about a Lunar New Year
2020’s celebration or are you listening to the world’s
bleak reports about Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)
a hot topic among people on the world now. Many are
afraid. Most have never been exposed to the idea of a
virus spreading and killing outside of the world of
Zombie apocalypse movies and video games. But the
coronavirus is real...and dangerous.
The number of coronavirus cases worldwide has has
surpassed the 8,098 people who were sickened by SARS in
the 2003 outbreak. Currently, there are nearly 50,000
confirmed cases, with the death toll rising to more than
1200 and at least 80 victims have been confirmed
dead and more than 2600 infected every day.
You can monitor the situation of the epidemic at the
World Health Organzation website:
https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/situation-reports/
In the Vietnam, there are 13 confirmed cases until now
and the number may increase rapidly in the future.
Facing the severity of this epidemic, all schools in
Vietnam are closed for 2 weeks after Tet holiday to
protect students and to spray preventive diseases.
L.O.V.E
have also encouraged all of our sponsored children to
refrain from crowding to avoid getting sick during this
epidemic season.
WE invite you to join with us in your prayers at your
homes, your Churches or at your work places…to
experience praying for the world as an active, creative,
life-giving response to even the worst international
news
(Specifically
now for the Coronavirus (2019 – nCoV) we have
just mentioned above)

Why should Christians be concerned about the
Coronavirus?
There are several reasons Christians should be concerned
about the coronavirus, and for those who are suffering
from the disease. But the primary reason, as the apostle
Paul tells us, is that we should “weep with those
who weep” (Rom. 12:15) and that we “comfort
those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with
which we ourselves are comforted by God” (2 Cor.
1:4).
As a pastor of a church in Wuhan recently said in an
open letter to fellow believers, “If you do not
feel a responsibility to pray, ask the Lord for a loving
soul, an earnestly prayerful heart; if you are not
crying, ask the Lord for tears. Because we surely know
that only through the hope of the Lord’s mercy will
Wuhan be saved.”

Here are 3 prayers we can pray from Behind the
Coronavirus Curtain:
1. Pray that we will walk with faith and wisdom.
Pray for us – Church of Christ, as we fight against
anxiety from an outbreak of global concern and walk the
line between faith and wisdom. Pray that we don’t lose
sight that God is our help and our refuge, and he
himself is untouched by disease (Psalm. 91).
Pray that even if we experience the worst imaginable
outcome—that we ourselves or someone we love gets
nCoV—that Christ would remain our sure and steady
anchor. Pray we’d trust God and not waver in faith.
Christians in China, whether national or foreign, will
make their own decisions during this time, but pray none
of us would be driven by fear. May we be full of faith
and godly wisdom instead.
2. Pray for healing and safety.
Pray that those who have the virus will be healed, and
that its spread would slow and be soon eradicated.
Pray that the government agencies would have wisdom and
skill in containing the epidemic, and that doctors and
nurses would be energized for their work.
Pray for scientists and biomedical engineers scrambling
to invent a way to cure and immunize against this new
virus.
3. Pray for gospel opportunities.
Pray for Chinese Christians, pastors, foreign
missionaries, business people, and educators who remain
in China to have open doors for gospel conversations in
light of this crisis.
Ask God to make the compassion and unity of his church
adorn the gospel in these dark days.
Pray that Christians’ faith and hope would give
platforms for speaking of Christ.
Pray that the resolve and sacrifice of missionaries
would pave a way for fruitful ministry.

zodiac. This Lunar New Year’s celebration falls on

As an official public holiday,
LOVE’s
staff received 7 days of absence from work,
from January 24 to 30.

Awesome!
That’s exactly what our God is. We have never had so
much to do in such a short time. Christmas and New Year
is hardly over when Tet comes. And never have so many of
you who support so much. Not only the large number of
you who sent Christmas gifts (or send money for gifts),
humanitarian mission donations, but almost as many sent
money to put in red lucky money envelopes for the
children on Vietnamese Tet.
Below are a few of the children who received lucky money
for buying new clothes. Others received money in lucky
money envelopes to buy items close to their homes. They
all were grateful to receive joy and blessing from you.

|
Now, let's see what style of clothes that our boys and
girls chose for Tet
|

|

|

|
Yes, of course, our girls would choose pretty dresses,
and boys would choose jeans,
with
shirts or t-shirts.
|

|

|

|

|
Some of our nice sponsors even gave lucky money to the
children’s siblings and family
|

|

|

|

|
More than 230 gifts were sent by sponsors to children in
January and most of Tet gifts came from G4kids. Since
our patrons knew the meaning of Tet holidays that best
epitomizes Vietnam's cultural identity, to Vietnamese
children, they have never missed the Tet gifts to their
sponsored children

The 1st visit in the New year 2020
We were happy to welcome a sponsor from Germany in the
early days of the new year. That was Ms.Patricia. She
met her sponsored children Quoc My, Quoc Thien and their
mother on a sunny afternoon and they spent short time
talking together at LOVE’s office. Then, they had a
joyful time doing shopping and have some snacks in a
supermarket. More nice time and beautiful pictures were
taken at Asia Park and they took a ride on Sun Wheel
also. The end of the wonderful time was dinner at a nice
restaurant in the park where they could express the last
feelings and say goodbye to each other.

Sponsors Needed
Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who
is waiting for a caring person like you. We have many
children who need sponsors.
To see these children or to fill out an application go
to our web site by clicking
child.
Without your help, many of these will not finish school.
For just $30 a month you can see that the child you
choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good
education, better food, clothing, and shelter. For more
information about these children or an application form,
you can also contact
Reggie.
Please pray that we can
find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers
to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday
School Class, civic club, etc.
PLEASE HELP!
Share your love and faith
These children urgently need sponsors who will support a
child for $30 a month or the whole family for $50 a
month, and will pray for them, write and encourage them.

About me:
My parents have been separated for years and
my father does not support anything for
three of us including money to raise two of
us. I and my little brother are living with
my mother and grandma. My mother is a sewing
worker but her eyes have turned to be weaker
years after years so her earning is truly
low and unstable, and we don’t know how long
she will be able to work. Thus, our grandma
must assist my mother in taking care of us
in both physical and financial, but frankly
my grandma is old and suffering a very weak
health. She sells the very vegetables that
she cuts from her garden whenever she feels
well, and she also uses the money given by
her children sometimes to raise three of us.
Over the years, I and my brother haven’t had
any single chance to take extra classes as
well as having a good nutrition. I wish to
become a designer when I graduate from
university. I hope and pray to receive a
sponsorship so things will turn to be better
for my poor family.
