Love Of Vietnam Expressed

by
 Helping the Poor & Needy

1 John 3:16-18 NKJV: By this, we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

FLOOD RELIEF IN QUANG NGAI

Due to the effects of Typhoon Damrey, from 3 – 6 of November 2017, the provinces from Quang Tri to Binh Thuan and the Central Highland continuously suffered from heavy rains with total rainfall measuring from 500-600 mm, with over 700 mm falling in Quang Nam and Binh Dinh, causing floods in low lying areas and local rivers and streams. The flood situation in the central provinces from Quang Ngai to Ninh Thuan has continued to worsen because of the influence of consecutive heavy downpours and water release from local irrigation.

According to the report from the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, havoc caused by Storm Damrey, the typhoon said to be the strongest in the last 20 years in the South Central Coast, had killed 44 people and left 19 others missing as of November 5. The floodwater did cause serious damages to people and property.

L.O.V.E. then received an email from a Pastor in Quang Ngai city, asking to help the citizens in Tra Bong district, Quang Ngai city. Thanks to the heart of a generous sponsor, we had an opportunity to hold a Flood Relief day for people here. L.O.V.E. gave gifts to nearly 100 families and 14 children. Each family got 10 kg of rice, instant noodles, fish sauce, cooking oil, and sugar according to the suggestion of the pastor and a child gift included notebooks and some other school supplies. Below are some brief words of the volunteer students who joined with L.O.V.E.’s Team and some pictures of the day.

You can also watch the video of the day at

“I talked to several people and they said that the flood was unexpectedly high, some of their paddy fields were destroyed because of landslides, the flood also damaged many houses and seeds for the next crop but thanks to the Lord for His protection, we are safe”, said Kim Phuong.

“I am glad to see the people here received much necessary stuff after the severe flood. It surely helps them overcome current difficulties. The children at Tra Bong district have such beautiful eyes and they are truly very cute” said Luong, a minority student.

“I personally realize so many things after joining the flood relief day with L.O.V.E.’s Team in Quang Ngai. I feel happy to see the smiles of the people here when receiving the gifts even they just experienced such a high one”, said Thu Hang.

“After spending a flood relief day with L.O.V.E., I realize what is the most important thing in my life, it is love and love should not only be for myself, my family, my friends but also it should be for everyone”, said Ksor Ri, a minority student.

Christmas Mission Trip’s Fundraising

This Christmas 2017, we’re arranging to share our Christ’s love with the poor and needy elderly and/or handicapped in Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province. This is the place where many households had suffered serious damages after the terrible flood in November. 100 gifts of $10-$15 each will be given out. In addition, we hope to give small Christmas gifts to about 100 children at a cost of $2-3 each. If you can help us in this outreach of Jesus’ love at Christmas time, just put "elderly" or "children’s Christmas" on your check or PayPal donation.

Sponsors Needed

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you. We have many children who need sponsors.

To see these children or to fill out an application go to our web site by clicking child. Without your help, many of these will not finish school. For just $30 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter. For more information about these children or an application form, you can also contact Reggie.

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

PLEASE HELP

Share your love and faith

These children urgently need sponsors who will support a child for $30 a month or the whole family for $50 a month, and will pray for them, write and encourage them.

About me: My father is a bread winner of the family and works as a bricklayer. For this job, he just can work on sunny days. My mother washes dishes at a food stall to earn money. She is affected by Agent Orange from her father and has to take care of us, so her income is low. My family also lives with my grandmother. She assists my mother to look after us and goes to forest to collect firewood. My younger sister is going to kindergarten and the youngest one stays at home and will go to kindergarten soon. I really hope to be helped to have a better study condition.

LOVE’s note: A single sponsorship is highly recommended.

(Luke 14:13-14 NIV)  But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

(Prov 31:8-9 NIV)  "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."

(Psa 41:1-3 NKJV)  Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.
