Mission team from Hope Church of Singapore http://www.hopesingapore.org.sg/ Besides the normal activities of the month, the highlight of our August was the occasion to welcome our friends from Hope Church Singapore. The team consisted of 5 lovely people who were so passionate about sharing God’s love to others that they had decided to spend their vacation on a mission trip to Vietnam just to glorify God and make their holiday a meaningful one. |
A day with Family 5 On the first day, the Singapore team was excited about meeting with the children from family 5. We made acquaintances with children through many games which were prepared before. We listened to children sharing their lives, families and hobbies. Look at the happy smiles on children’s face; we were happy for making the simple thing for them. We had a big lunch together and gave them many nice small gifts. After an interesting day, we left Family 5 in happiness, and we wished they would be good in health and studying. |

A morning at Danang Church with College Students On the second day the team was able to meet with students from Da Nang Church. With the desire to encourage the students in their walk with God, our Singaporean friends had carefully prepared a sharing session about the topic of “Persistent Prayers”. After a few minutes getting to know the students through conversations and ice-breaker games, we started with praise and worship and committed the time to God’s lead. The message about P.U.S.H, which stands for “Pray Until Something Happens” and the testimony from our sister Joanne about how God had led her to go for a relief mission in Japan after the tsunami, really touched the students’ hearts. That was also an inspiration for them to get out of their comfort zone and really start to do something for Him. We closed the session with a time of prayer when we split in different groups to pray for various needs of the students regarding their health, their orientation in life, as well as their desire to serve God. In the afternoon, we got the chance to visit some student houses where we spent another lovely time with the students, got to know them better, caught a glimpse of their living conditions and also took the time to pray for them. To the students, this was not only a chance for them to make friends with foreigners, but also a reminder from God so that they would be encouraged to keep praying, trusting in Him, and being bold in sharing His Gospel and His love to others. And to our Singaporean friends, they had really pleased God in reaching out to His people and glorified Him through what they were doing here in Vietnam. After all, thanks to God’s grace and providence, everyone has benefited so much from this precious occasion. May God continue to send His people to Vietnam to be a blessing to His Vietnamese children. |

Medical Mission by Quang Nam Churches There were about 240 elderly patients who came to have medical checks and what makes us really happy and proud is that a saying of "May God bless you" kept being repeated by one of the volunteers when she delivered gifts to each one of them. Also, the words “God is love” was on the 240 plastic bags given to each patient. It is truly a blessed day for all. |
