BRIGHTER LIVES FUNDRAISING

Our dearest friends, L.O.V.E. desires to give 300 baskets of $15 including school supplies and essential food to poor ethnic children living in remote mountainous areas before the new school year 2023-2024, to help them have better schooling conditions and encourage them to pursue their studies for a brighter future.

With only $15 for each basket, you can make your love real and light up a dream of a poor child. Every little bit helps. We surely need your donation to make this distribution happen to the children there as they deserve it.

We Are Looking For A Helping Hand From You For

HOPE FUND ACTIVITIES In this 2023

Hope to Overcome Poverty & Emptiness (HOPE) is a separate fund from our admin and children’s funds, specifically for humanitarian mission trips and other help to the poor, to give hope to the “poor in spirit”.

The HOPE fund is motivated by our faith in God and is shaped by our belief that Christ is alive and can be served directly by serving those in greatest need, to bring relief to the poorest of the poor in Vietnam, regardless of race or religion, to give hope to those in extreme emptiness, in this life and for eternity.

The emergency relief, healthcare, lifesaving food, clean water, micro-enterprise, school and medical supply projects and other help are served by the LOVE staff, local churches and lay leaders who have been empowered and supplied with goods by L.O.V.E.

The poor and hopeless in spirit are converted and renewed by their relationship with and service to the poor through our direct helping, giving, encouragement and prayer.

Several of HOPE FUND ACTIVITIES need your help:

-Need $10,500 /a year for 500 food baskets with $25/a basket

-Need $4,500/a year for 300 school supplies  with $15/a basket

-Need $1,700 /a year for 6 medical cabinets with $275 /a medicine supply.

-Need $2,000/a year  for 300 other needs for  elderly, children, houses and bible camps and mission trips.

TOTAL WE NEED 17,000 - 20,000 USD/ A YEAR TO DO HOPE ACTIVITIES.

If you can help us in this outreach of hope and love this year,  please email us or just put HOPE or detailed activities on your check or PayPal donation.

BELOW ARE SOME ACTIVITIES FOR THESE LAST MONTHS

Food Gifts For Agent Orange Victims

Before the Lunar New Year 2023, in response to the call of Danang Department of Foreign Affairs and Danang Association of Victims of Agent Orange, LOVE visited and distributed 20 Tet gifts to agent orange victims who are suffering from agent orange. They were cared for at the Danang Center supporting agent orange victims.

Each gift includes instant noodles, confectionery, and a cash envelope to help them and their families to have a cozy Tet holiday.

Agent orange victims here are of all ages, they go to this Center during the week and go home to their families at weekends. They may have health, physical and mental defects, yet we believe that they can still deeply recognize the care and love from others for them through specific actions.

CAREER GUIDANCE WORKSHOP

On February 23, L.O.V.E. held a career guidance workshop for 12th grade students who are being sponsored. This workshop aims to answer questions and give career advice tailored to the personalities and abilities of 12th graders who are about to take their university entrance exams this summer.

We invited guests with experience in areas of interest to 12th graders, such as: pedagogy, foreign languages, tourism, economics and IT. In addition, REACH (a vocational training center for youth) has introduced some short-term vocational courses that may be suitable for students who want to enter the labor market right after finishing high school.

Before the workshop, students took a personality test so that the staff could arrange them in the appropriate counseling room.

Taking the personality test

Playing a career guessing game

The workshop got off to a lively start with a career guessing quiz game. Then, the students were divided into career counseling rooms. After 15 minutes, they were free to choose any other room that they wanted. The guests used all of their knowledge and experience to guide them into careers that match their personalities and aspirations, answered questions about future jobs, and offered useful advice and information to help the students better understand careers in modern society.

REACH Center shared about their current training courses

IT consulting room

The speaker is Manh Linh, a former sponsored child in our program. Now he is very successful in the IT field.

Foreign languages & Tourism consulting room

A friend of ours owning a small company related to Service-Tourism helps us in this field.

Community Service consulting room

Ms. Nha Ca and  staff held this room. We are so glad and proud that many children were interested in this room and have a heart for the needy.

Economics consulting room

Kim Anh – a former student who had once lived in our student house and is currently very successful in the economic field is the guest.

Pedagogy consulting room

Our guest – Teacher Than with 40 years of experience in teaching

We are delighted that the workshop is useful for our 12th graders before their important exam in life. We are also very grateful for the extremely dedicated and understanding guests. The workshop was successful. Many students had their questions answered and knew more about the path they had better choose ahead.

HOPE SCHOLARSHIP TO A LUOI

Our journey to A Luoi to give hope to impoverished ethnic minority children through HOPE Scholarship went well. Support for school expenses and food baskets were given to students and their families.

These scholarships are timely and appropriate help for the children here to light their dreams of going to school and pursuing a brighter future. Thank you, our dear sponsors for generously giving the opportunity to change a life for the better.

Only with $200/year, you can help to transform a child’s life through HOPE scholarship. Find out this program here.

PRECIOUS TET GIFTS

Tet holiday is the most awesome time of the year that all Vietnamese people look forward to seeing their family members working far from home and enjoying the most beautiful moments of spring together.

Not only that but Tet is also special to children who are always excited and hurried to enter the new year with eager faces. They carefully choose nice outfits from shops/ markets with their parents, dress up on the early first day of Tet and then happily give best wishes of good health to adults and also receive red envelopes.

Many children in our program received Tet gifts from their sponsors and spent the amount on new clothes or a pair of shoes. Some of the university students in our sponsorship program returned home after a year of study and luckily brought Tet gifts home thanks to the extra gift from their sponsors, too. How great it is to see their happiness!
