Love Of Vietnam Expressed

by
 Helping the Poor & Needy

1 John 3:16-18 NKJV: By this, we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Now, L.O.V.E would like to share some photos about our activity in last month. And send our big “Thank You” to the Lord and to our sponsors from G4Kids, L.O.V.E’s sister-partner in Germany for their donation to do

Rainy Season Support Event

On last 12th of November.

As you know, rainy season in our Da Nang city starts from October to March. During this time of the year, Da Nang experiences heavy rainfall, tropical storms and even typhoons. This causes significant damage to the inhabitant here, especially to the poor who don’t have solid houses and whose jobs depend on the weather such as farmers, builders, fishermen and so on. The sponsored children’s family in our program has faced this yearly, which urged our sponsors and us to have a look toward them and to have to do something for them, even though it is just a small work. That’s why LOVE/G4kids happily continued to carry out a rainy season support activity for all families in our program in this year by giving them a big household basket including rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, washing powder and more.

This year we decided to do this activity in a rented indoor yard because of the irregular weather at Da Nang. It has always rained all day so we could not organize the distribution of each area in front of the office as last year.

We have given 142 big household baskets to sponsored children’s families in last November and we will continue to give the support baskets to remaining families in our program as a meaning Christmas gift in December.

Everything was going very well and everyone was coming in full. We would like to Thank God for the beautiful weather yesterday. We've been raining all week, it also has rained a lot the after days, but the weather was nice and sunny on 12th. You can see it in the following pictures:

Volunteeers are students in L.O.V.E’s Student Home program. Indeed they helped us a lot!

Thank You so much for your helps, our dear students!

The children and their family came to receive the basket with a grateful heart and happy smiles because of this necessary support.

Do you see the joy and excitement on their faces while waiting in line to receive gifts?

Thank you” is the word that we heard a lot during the day.

We find how blessed we are to give out the gifts and to see happiness on their face.

We hope that we and you – generous hearts will be able to help them more and more in the future.

They are sponsored children’s families in Dai Loc and Hoa Bac .

We bought the gifts at where they live because the distance is too far for them

WHAT WE CAN HELP?

From November, 244thh- 277thhtwo staff of L.O.V.E Organization got the chance to visit the Vietnamese Cambodians known as ethnic Vietnamese living in Cambodia. This was just a visit trip to see whether we possibly can do something in the future to help the poor Vietnamese community here. We went to Phnom Penh from Sai Gon by bus; a member of L.O.V.E Team was here many years ago in a private trip. We connected with the Christian private school namely Children for The Great Commission School. The total estimated number of the Vietnamese Cambodians is around 180.000. They mostly reside in southeastern parts of Cambodia bordering Vietnam or boathouses in the Tonle Sap lake and Mekong rivers. Living mainly on water because do not have the legal right to buy property, these people built stilt houses and floating houses and they earn their livings mostly by fishing but challenging with the ups and downs of the water level..

Ethnic relations between the Khmers and Vietnamese are very poor, and the Vietnamese have been the main target of xenophobic attacks by political parties since 1960s. Most of the Vietnamese are stateless residents of Cambodia, as they are not citizens in Cambodia or Vietnam, and because of this they face many difficulties in getting access to education, formal employment, housing and healthcare. At the end of the visit, two of us can clearly see that life and living conditions of the Vietnamese Cambodians are truly up and down like the water level.

We sent some gifts to the children there as a Christmas gift. But it could just a small candy gift we could send because it is outside of L.O.V.E's legal area of assistant and our finance is not enough.

We don’t know but if the Lord will, we hope we can reach these children in the future to help them and transform the life.

Do you have the same vision for the poor children? Please contact us!

Congratulation & Goodbye

L.O.V.E would like to give Thanks to the Lord about Pham Thi My Dong and her dedication. My Dong is the one of our longest working staff. She has served God and poor children through L.O.V.E for 12 years. Since 2017, she took over as LOVE’s Director in Vietnam when Reggie had come back US

Now, let’s say Congratulation for My Dong’s wedding party in last November. The Lord answered her prayers in past years. She married Mathew who is born-again Christian living in Australia. Now, she has left L.O.V.E and Da Nang to follow her husband in the Australia.

Good-bye My Dong! May God bless you in this new adventure and helps you and your husband to create an atmosphere filled with love and joy!

Welcome to New Staff

L.O.V.E is pleased to welcome a new member to our team. She is Nguyen Truong Ha Mi. She used to live in our Ruth housing as a university student. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting at University of Economy.

Ha Mi had a year of experience working as an accountant before leaving for working contrary to her professional background because the accounting job at the previous company was not transparent. After that, she has always prayed and looked for the transparently accounting job and the chance to share God's love. And thank the Lord for bringing us together.

Ha Mi has been trained and she will officially take over accounting position of L.O.V.E starting January 2020

New Changes – New Mision

L.O.V.E asks more prayers for Nha Ca. She has been appointed to be next

LOVE’s Director in Vietnam. She is the daughter of a pastor and worked at L.O.V.E since 2014 after graduating her Bachelor of International Studies. Nha Ca was our Coordinator of Sponsorship projects and the City Wide Student Home program.

WE also need support through your prayers for L.O.V.E team. Lots of changes to our team in Vietnam.

“Let you pray the Lord for His divine guidance and help to us in all that we do or serve, for strength and for wisdom we would be able to handle changes and situations in a way that would bring glory to the Lord.”

(Luke 14:13-14 NIV)  But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

(Prov 31:8-9 NIV)  "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."

God bless you for your prayers and financial support for the children!
