HUMANITARIAN MISSION TRIP IN HOA BAC Thanks to the donation of Mrs. Jenifer Loan Huynh, a Vietnamese American sponsor of our two families, L.O.V.E had an opportunity to bring 100 gifts including a bag of 15 kg of rice and a box of instant noodles to Hoa Bac commune, one of the poorest and remote areas of Da Nang city. 80 children from Hoa Bac elementary school and 20 poor households living nearby were benefited from this Humanitarian Mission. We couldn’t imagine that we, the donator, two L.O.V.E’s staff and two volunteers received such a cute and innocent welcome from the children with so many smiles and happy faces; one of the boys willingly sang a song to welcome us also. We then distributed the gifts and interacted with them and families for a while and it turned out that all parties had a few great happy hours. The happy smile also appeared on the donator’s face and she shared that she definitely wanted to do it again. She would perhaps not be there next time but she has L.O.V.E. After that, we visited her two sponsored families. To view the video of the mission, please click here. |

A SINGAPOREAN SPONSOR’S VISIT A Singaporean sponsor, Haixiong wrote, “In end April 2017, I was delighted to make this trip to Danang again. This time, I travelled with 3 colleagues from work to share with them beautiful Vietnam and the joy of sponsorship with LOVE. We spent half a day at Asia Park with the children and their families. It was nice to see Tien’s and Thao Vy's families once more. However, I couldn't meet Y Ngan and her family due to illness. When we were in Asia Park, some of the children were shy firstly. But after a few rides, they got really excited. The daredevils among us are Thao Vy and her younger brother. Mid-way through, my colleague bought everyone a round of snacks to munch on! We ended the day with a ride at the Sun Wheel. The children also got to choose a favorite item at the gift shop to bring home. At the end of the day, it was hard to say goodbye. As Phuong always says, this could be their once-in-a-lifetime trip to Asia Park. I want to tell the children to do well in school, get a good job when you grow up and the sky is the limits. Special thanks to Phuong for sacrificing his precious weekend. See you soon Danang.” |

Our sponsored children show a variety in the way they pick things as their birthday gifts. Girls tend to choose something nice like clothes, shoes, teddy bears,… while boys are getting something for safety or study such as dictionary, helmet, … However, a birthday cake is probably the most popular pick. |
