Love Of Vietnam Expressed

Helping the poor and needy

(1 John 3:16-18 NKJV): By this, we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Official Newsletter of  L.O.V.E.

June 2014

The children’s work is done ------- LOVE’s work just gets more intent.

Some of our children will attend summer school for honors work – some for remedial work – some for special classes; i.e. swimming, karate, singing, dance, etc. – and others will just hang out.

As for LOVE, you already know --- preparing reports on progress, reports, textbooks, school uniforms.

In addition, we desire to give each of our children a raincoat by September, before rainy season starts.

If you would like to help, a raincoat will cost $2.50 to $3.00 each. Your donation of any amount can help. Just put "raincoat" on your PayPal or check donation.

In May

We paid out 42 stipends for scholarships, 145 stipends to sponsored families, 72 stipends to single child sponsored, 19 extra gifts, student houses and other needs for a total of $6,698.

A big thank you to all of you in the US, Europe (especially Germany) and Asia. About 2/3 of money paid each month comes from Europe and the rest from the US and other parts of the world, including Asia.

Some of our blessed children below – They all say Thank you!

Some of our kind sponsors not only care for the sponsored child but also their siblings. In the picture is Anh’s sister – Len, with her birthday gift.

Truc Linh is happily smiling behind her dreamy bicycle

Phuong Hong sends her big thanks to sponsor for always remembering her birthday

Thuy Ha will soon be a college graduate. LOVE and G4kids are happy to enable & accompany sponsored children to the end of their educational road.

Child Abuse

Viet Trinh

Trinh, who will have graduated from high school this June, was struck by a metal object swung by her drunken father as she tried to protect her mother. Because of fear, she told her teachers and us that she fell.

She wrote her sponsor that she would not go to college. With loving encouragement from LOVE’s staff, she told us the truth about the scar. She is very embarrassed by her scar and what her father did. We have encouraged her to focus on her graduation test and college entrance exams. We have promised to provide an operation after the exam. We all are so glad she did not lose her eye. We also are trying to get help for the father. Please pray for her and her family.

Sponsors Needed

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you. We have many children who need sponsors.

To see these children or to fill out an application go to our web site by clicking child. Without your help, many of these will not finish school. For just $30 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter. For more information about these children or an application form, you can also contact Reggie, who lives in Danang.

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

Share your love and faith

These children urgently need sponsors who will support a child for $30 a month or the whole family for $50 a month, and will pray for them, write and encourage them.

Please Sponsor me!

About me:   Family members: I live with my parents and 2 siblings: one is in kindergarten and one in grade 4. My father is a bricklayer and he has problems with his joint and neck. He cannot go to work regularly due to his sickness and sometimes his job is unstable. My mother works at a shoes company. She has breast fibroids and she has to take medicine every day. They cannot earn enough money for raising 3 of us and pay for school. Now we live in a temporary house since a storm destroyed my house. Thanks to some help from the local government and our church, we had little of money to rebuild the house from the damaged one, but need more money to finish it. However, we have not enough money to finish it and we really need a stable house to live in the next raining season. I like to go to school and I hope you will help me.

Family members:

·         Le Minh Duc (1979) – Father

·         Pham Duong Thi Ngoc – (1985) – Mother

·         Le Thi Ngoc Hien –(2004) – Oldest sister – 4th grade

·         Le Thi My Hoa – ( 2011) – Youngest sister – kindergarten

LOVE’s note:  A family sponsorship is recommended, but any help is highly appreciated!

This is where they live now.

Here they sit on a platform for a bed over the sand floor.

(Luke 14:13-14 NIV)  But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, {14} and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

(Luke 19:8-9 NIV)  But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount." {9} Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.

(Psa 41:1-3 NKJV)  Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.

If you live in Europe, please contact our sister-organization www.G4Kids.de

God bless you for your prayers and financial support for the children!
