Love Of Vietnam Expressed

By

Helping the poor and needy

www.loveofvn.org

(1 John 3:16-18 NKJV): By this, we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

From the Director in Vietnam

I just want to thank all of you for your love and help to our children. You are a blessing and encouragement to them. I also want to thank all of you who pray for me, our staff and the children. This month was made smoother by your prayers, not only for the distribution of stipends, uniforms and text books, but for my renewing my residency for the next year in Vietnam. A great big thanks to all of you.

Medical Mission

LOVE is grateful to all of you who have made donations to our general fund. This has enabled us to participate in another medical mission. To continue to do this we need more of you to make regular donations to our general fund. A medical mission costs $1000 (21.000.000 vnd). Last year, we were able to fully fund several missions plus a humanitarian mission to the elderly in one commune (about $1500). This year, we have only been able to contribute 5.000.000 vnd to help in 2 missions, but we are grateful to be able to do that. Thank you!

My First Medical Mission by Linh

The July Medical Mission was held at Hoa Quy Ward People’s Committee. There were about 30 Christian volunteers and doctors serving over 200 patients. Most of them were the elderly and children. Patients came very early to register and receive medical care number. The doctors and volunteers gave them enthusiastic guidance and considerate care. After being checked and cared for, each of them received a small gift for health improvement before returning home. They all were pleased and had a good health checking day. Thank God for allowing us to have the opportunity to show God’s love to the local people in Hoa Quy. Please continue to pray and accompany us in donation work so that the next Medical Mission will also be blessed like this.

Sponsors Needed

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you. We have many children who need sponsors.

To see these children or to fill out an application go to our web site by clicking child. Without your help, many of these will not finish school. For just $30 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter. For more information about these children or an application form, you can also contact Reggie, who lives in Danang.

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

PLEASE HELP

Share your love and faith

These children urgently need sponsors who will support a child for $30 a month or the whole family for $50 a month, and will pray for them, write and encourage them.

About me:  My name is Nguyen Thi Mai. I am the youngest child in a 4 children family. All of my siblings quit school and none of them finished high school or even secondary school. I have one sister and two brothers. One of my two brothers got married and has a baby. My whole family with 7 members are living in a 30m2 house and my sister in law is pregnant. The main expenses of the whole family depend on my parents wages as a brother and a sister don’t have a job yet while the oldest brother has got a job but his earning is very low, which is even not enough to cover up his small family’s needs. My parents are working as manual workers. Every day they go out and find some work such as carrying things on an ox cart or being a stevedore or so. Their wages are paid by the hour and they must work very hard to feed all 7 members in our family. I am the youngest one in the family and look at my brothers and sister I don’t want to be a un-school-child like them. I do want to keep going to school and I wish I would have a nice sponsor who’ll help keep me in school but not a burden for my family.

Family members:

-           Nguyen Hung (08/04/1966) – Father

-           Nguyen Thi Mua (1967) – Mother

-           Nguyen Duc Manh (1992) – Brother

-           Nguyen Duc Khoe (1995) – Brother

-           Nguyen Thi Thu (1997) – Sister

-           Tran Thi Diem (1993) – Sister-in-law

LOVE’s note:  This family just has 1 child still in school and Mai may have to quit school like her sister and brothers. LOVE has encouraged her to not stop studying and she also wishes to have someone help her in studying fee. Therefore, a family sponsorship is highly recommended.

(Luke 14:13-14 NIV)  But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, {14} and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

(Luke 19:8-9 NIV)  But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount." {9} Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.

(Psa 41:1-3 NKJV)  Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.
