Love Of Vietnam Expressed

Helping the poor and needy

(1 John 3:16-18 NKJV): By this, we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Let me share a letter from one of our college interns who spent nearly 3 months with us:

MY MEMORABLE INTERNSHIP...!

Well, I’m now writing some lines to tell all of you about my last internship at L.O.V.E. Many times in my prayers, I thank God for allowing me to have my great internship time with all the people at L.O.V.E.

From the very beginning, in the early January, I was warmly welcomed by all the opening hearts. It’s such a big encouragement for me because, you know, I was so nervous and confused when coming to a new working environment outside the college’s gate. But, I was instructed and guided on the first days of work. I also soon found that this is a friendliest and safest place to work than any others before. Every morning, we have time for devotion, which is the most meaningful time of a working day to share God’s word and pray together. I really like the way Mr. Reggie, the director, helps us come closer to God every day.

At first, my job seemed to be too simple or sometimes boring, just translating letters of foreign sponsors and their Vietnamese sponsored children from Vietnamese into English and vice versa. This is much easier compared with the tasks I have to deal with at school. However, that is not all! When I translated letters of the poor and needy Vietnamese children, I could feel their hearts, their happiness or even sorrow. I realized that it was not only translating but learning to understand and sympathize with others’ plights especially children. Then, I put my heart into every letter I translated and feel it. And, this makes the job extremely meaningful to me.

Besides, I had many chances to go on many exciting field trips with foreign sponsors and helped the staff deliver the monthly stipend as well. These kinds of work brought me a lot of job’s challenges and experiences, which will be useful for my future job.

Last but not least, I was also encouraged by the enthusiasm of all the staff here. They work with all their hearts and love for the other needy people, even in a very difficult time, they always smile!!! J

Once again, many thanks for allowing me to write these short lines. I wish all of you as well as your organization the best in the future.

*- MAY THE GRACE OF GOD BE WITH YOU ALWAYS -*

(Mark 10:21 NKJV)  Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me."

(Psa 41:1-3 NKJV)  Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.

God bless you for your prayers and financial support for the children!
