Love Of Vietnam Expressed

Helping the poor and needy

(1 John 3:16-18 NKJV) By this, we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Vietnam’s 2nd

Vietnam experienced its coldest weather of the year in March with enough snow in the northwest to build a snowman. Here in Danang, the lows have been 15-16o C. it is rainy and windy. Not very cold to many of you, but consider living in a cave with no heat at this point. Vietnamese homes are cement, not insulated, and airy. Extend this for a couple of weeks, with little sunshine and only clothes and blankets to keep you warm. Go to work on a motor bike and work all day outside or in a cold building.

Now think of the poor, the whole family huddled on a straw mat with one tattered blanket to keep warm. Does 16o C seem “not so cold now?

2nd Annual Summer Camp

We are already planning a day camp for our children in June. This is a time to take the children for an outing to the beach to relax. We wish to spend time with the children and get to know them more as they really are and for them to make new friends. We sing, dance, play, and compete in games and talent shows. Here they also get T-shirts, a pack bag, prizes and more. The cost of the camp is expected to be around $3,500.

In May, they will get school uniforms and text books for next year. The cost for this and school supplies come from the children’s reserve fund.

However, if any of you wish to donate to help with transportation and related cost of the camp it would help a lot. Please pray for the camp, all the children, and staff.

Sponsors Needed

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you. We have many children who need sponsors.

To see these children or to fill out an application go to our web site by clicking child. Without your help, many of these will not finish school. For just $25 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter. For more information about these children or an application form, you can also contact Reggie, who lives in Danang.

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

Share your love and faith

These children urgently need sponsors who will support a child for $25 a month or the whole family for $40 a month, and will pray for them, write and encourage them.

About me: I live in a five-member family. My father works as a motorbike taxi despite his bad health and my mother sells goodies and beverages on the street to earn for our living. It’s hard for us to cover our needs with unstable income. Moreover, our siblings are schooling and we really need some help to cover our school fees and to get better education.

Family members:

*Tran Van Minh (Oct 20, 1967) – Father

* Tran Thi Phu Phuong (Dec 31, 1969) – Mother

* Tran Van Long (Feb 27, 2002)(grade 3) – Younger Brother

* Tran Ngoc Thu (Oct 5, 2005)(kindergarten) – Younger Sister

LOVE’s note: A family sponsorship would give Man better conditions for study and give him a hope to go to go to the university when he completes high school.

(Ezekiel 16:49 NKJV) "Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

(Psa 41:1-3 NKJV) Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.

If you are interested in sponsoring a child, please check the information by clicking on child or contact Reggie.
