And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?  My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

LOVE activities

Love was able to raise only a very disappointing $600 and €900 in July and August to be able to offer scholarships to non-sponsored children. That is a total of $1,887. Add $943.50 from our challenger & that is a total of $2,830.50. That is enough for only 20 children to receive scholarships of nearly $10 a month plus school uniform and books. Another 9 have scholarships paid to the end of the year.

After much prayer, I cannot allow this to happen. I am taking a big step in faith and we will provide scholarships to every child that has not found a sponsor yet and to another group of college students who are too old to seek sponsors. That means that in September we will provide 70 scholarships or 41 more than is presently funded. We are so certain this is God’s desire, that we trust Him for the additional $6,000 needed. Our goal was 100 scholarships, so that still leaves us 30 short.

In August, we provided stipends to 97 children and 59 families sponsored and additional gifts to 60 of these.

We provided funds to12 student homes in which 8 have sponsors.

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you. We have many children who need sponsors.

To see these children or to fill out an application go to our web site by clicking child. Without your help, many of these will not finish school. For just $25 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter. Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

Dental Mission

Several donations for medical purposes and a wonderful couple from England made this first mission of 2009 possible. The people of Hoa Lien ward of Danang thank you. 170 people were treated. Hoa Lien, which is near Hai Vang Pass, saw some of the most furious and bloody battles before 1975. It is thought that more than 10,000 people died here.

We hope to have a portable dental unit delivered in mid-October which will allow us to drill and fill teeth. And we have been promised full funding for 4 full missions in 2009.

(Psa 41:1-3 NKJV)  Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.
