And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?  My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Challenge

June, July and August are very important to all of us at LOVE and our children. Our sponsored children are provided for, but the nearly 250 children on scholarship also need many extras in preparing for next school year. They also need school uniforms, school insurance, and textbooks. The average cost per child is around $15. That is an addition of nearly $4,000 we need over the next 3 months.

In addition, this is the time we view new applications for the 2007-2008 school year. We expect over 100 new applications. Most of these will be truly needy.  LOVE would like to be able to help as many of these children as we can. The cost per child is $100 a year. That is $5,000 needed to help 50 new children.

We are hoping to find sponsors for all our children, and then we will not have to make this kind of appeal every summer.

Please pray about doing a little extra this summer. We need to let our children know soon if we can help them with these additional expenses.

 In March, we were visited by Loan and we took her to visit many of our sponsored children and three of our four student houses. Many of our sponsored children are in Quang Nam.

 Sixty of our sponsors are from Hope Chapel. We really need other churches  

 to come to the help our children.

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you.

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

We have many children who need sponsors.

For just $20 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter.

There are 7 members in my family.  My father died a long time ago so my mother is working really hard to provide for us. My 2 older brothers are in university. That is really hard on my mother. Furthermore the three of us all have heart disease so we cannot do hard work to help my mother. I hope my brothers will graduate soon, get a good job, and help my mother. We really need your help to finish our education.

Above is a picture of our visit to Hieu, one of our sponsored children in Danang. Her mother needs a heart operation, but the cost of $3,000 is impossible for them.

The students were able to find only one other student at Vinh University who was a Christian. They fellowshipped with and encouraged her. They will keep up with her by email. Scores of students were introduced to Christ. Many had never heard the good news or the name of Jesus before. Some accepted Jesus and will be discipled by the one Christian they met and also were introduced to a local house church.

Note/Reminder: Reggie receives absolutely no money from funds donated to LOVE. No more than 10% is used to pay salaries and operational expenses. Most, 90% or more, of the money donated goes directly to help the poor and needy.
