Helping the poor and needy

(1 John 3:16-18 NKJV)  By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?  My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

March Dental Mission

In March, Dr. Douglas (Wing) Leung, a dentist from the U.S., and Ms. Aimee Rizzardo, a dental hygienist from Canada, joined us for two weeks. They trained us and a group of local volunteers to screen and to examine children's teeth, to teach dental hygiene, and to apply sealant to children’s teeth. There were 3 days of training and 7 days of dental clinics at 5 locations. In all, there were 20 local Vietnamese trained and over 300 children treated. It is hoped that the volunteers will continue by doing one clinic a month. Our goal is to treat 100 children each month.

Happy and eager children receiving funds from their sponsors.

Right now there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you.

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

We have many children who need sponsors.

To see our children or to fill out an application go to our web site by clicking child. Without your help many of these will not finish school. For just $20 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter.

Tran Thi Bich Quyen needs a sponsor.
There are five members in my family. I wish my father still lived with us and would help us. Perhaps you could help.

Volunteer workers are trained by Doug (Dr. Wing) to screen, examine, clean and put sealants on teeth.

Above:  Vietnamese volunteers from the Street Children’s staff, several churches, and LOVE’s staff put their training to use.

Dr. Wing donated equipment and supplies so that the local teams can continue after he leaves. The volunteers plan to do at least one clinic a month. The plan is to begin with schools in the poorer areas and treat all the children.

Dr. Wing and Aimee say thank you and goodbye
to the volunteers with a luncheon.

PLEASE HELP A CHILD THIS MONTH

(2 Cor 9:9-11 NKJV)  As it is written: "He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever." Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.
