March We will have Dr. Doug Leung with us from March 4 to 22. Please pray for him as he trains volunteers and does free dental care for Vietnamese here in DaNang. Pray for future trips as we will carry portable equipment into remote areas to care for the poor and needy.

February | In January and February, LOVE has had to turn away over 100 very poor children, elderly, and handicapped seeking help. Beginning in July LOVE may have to drop another 100 that we are now helping. In 2005 Donations ran about $10,000 below our expenditure for the poor and needy. Our reserve funds are about gone and unless God provides a miracle we will have to cut. We need 100 people to donate $10 a month to maintain the families we now help and another 100 donating $10 a month to help the over 100 needy people who are needing help. We also need sponsors for 2 of our student homes. | |||||
LOVE delivered 995 kg of rice to58 families, and 158 scholarships, lunch for 15 students, and supported 3 student homes for 23 students. |

In addition to the 2 student homes above, we have a 3rd home called Rachel’s home and want to open a 4th home on the east side of DaNang. It costs $50- $75 a month to sponsor one of the homes and $200-$300 to open one. That includes bunk beds, tables, chairs, a gas stove, etc. Each home can house 6-10 students. We would like to put a phone and at least one computer in each home. The cost to do this in $500 per home. We also provide free health care. These homes offer more than a free house for them to live in. We oversee each home and require students to have daily devotions which include prayer and Bible study. We also require 2-3 home meetings where the students can worship together and share individual and family needs. It is a place they are to live out their faith, to nurture their faith, and mature as Christians.

None of these things are possible without you and your church. It is your prayers, your telling others about the needs and work here, and your donations that we can represent you and God here in Vietnam. It is you that sends a child to school, buys him a school uniform, books, etc. It is you that God uses to provide rice to a poor family or medical care. These things are only possible when you allow God to use you to reach out a hand of love to the poor.
