MARCH 2004

(1 John 3:16-18,NKJV):  By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us.  And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
This is the scripture that compels us.

1. Above is Thien. She is 15 years old and in the 9th grade. Thien is an above average student. She has Blood Cancer and doctors say that they hope to give her another 4-8 years with the chemotherapy she now must take once a week. The cost is $100 each month. She is one of the sweetest and bravest children I have met. We are sharing the hope of Christ with her. Please pray!

2. Thanks to a generous donor in Minneapolis, twelve-year-old Duong Van Minh, is scheduled for heart surgery the first week of March. The operation costs $1200.

3,4. Nguyen Thi Hong, a polo victim, now walks with the help of braces donated by another LOVE donor.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING

LOVE is now sponsoring the cost of lunch for an embroider class run by Sister Vuong. There are 15 very poor girls in this class. Seven are handicapped. The cost is $33 a month. Please pray about sponsoring this class as we have taken a step in faith to do this.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Above are two of the 15 new scholarships recipients LOVE has added this month. Fourteen of these are from Christian families. The Che family on the left just lost the father in December. The income of the mother is under $20 a month.
LOVE will provide a scholarship to Che Thi Thu Thuy. She is 12 years old and in the 6th grade. While visiting the family on the right, we found out that a younger child, 8-year-old Hue, has a bladder problem and needs an operation, but they do not have the money. The combined income of both parents is less than $100 a month. They need about $400 for the operation. Tam, the one pictured above with her father, will receive a scholarship from LOVE.
LOVE also hopes some of you reading this can help Hue get an operation this summer.

In closing, I would like to share a scripture with you. So many have questioned me about why work in Vietnam where evangelism is forbidden. First, God called me here. Second, ours is an evangelism of love. John 13:35: "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." Matt. 7:20-23 NKJV: "Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'" And to others Jesus said: (Mat 25:35-40 NKJV) "'for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.' "Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'"

MANY TIMES I LOOK INTO THE FACES, ESPECIALLY THE CHILDREN's, AND I SEE JESUS' FACE. PLEASE HELP A CHILD THIS MONTH!

Blessings, Reggie, Chi, and Duc
