It's a Girl!

My wife Chi has given birth to a 3 kg (6lb 10 oz) beautiful girl.

Her name is Hannah Hong An Coward HANNAH  is from the Hebrew name Channah which meants "favour" or "grace".

Hong An means great favour or grace in Vietnamese.

She was born at 7:30 a.m. on Pentecost Sunday, May 30 and weighed 3 kg (6 pounds 10 ounces). She is beautiful and truly a show of God's favor and grace.

Phuoc’s heart surgery

Thanks to a donor in Minneapolis, LOVE funded all but about $250 of Luong Thi Hoang Phuoc's operation. This was donated by "East Meets West". This family is from Dai Loc in Quang Nam, but moved to Danang two years ago. Her father earns about $30 - $40 a month driving a cab. The mother must stay home with Phuoc and her two year old sister. Her brother is in the 9^th grade.

Phuoc had a hole between the left and right ventricle. The parents were near tears when we handed them the money for the operation. They are very grateful.

LOVE now provides scholarships to 200 Children. There are 102 that receive monthly scholarships and 98 who live in more remote regions are provided semi-annual or annual scholarships. Pray for funds to be able to add at least another 100 children in 2004-2005.

LOVE goes to Tra My

Tra My is the most southwest part of Quang Nam. It is bordered to the west by Laos and is over 90% Ca-tu minority tribal people.

Praise Jesus, because of  the love of you who support  LOVE with your prayers and money, we now can reach to the very, very poor children in a very poor district of this country. Look at their face you will know how happy they were when they got the gifts.

The place we were in is a school. It has 5 classrooms but 2 of them were for the teacher's to live in. They wish to have a bigger school. The headmaster with sweat on his forehead received us and said: "We have  worked here for several years we understand and sympathize with the minority people. They are very poor but we can do nothing because we are also poor. Tra My district has just divided into 2 districts and the local government here is inexperienced and poor and can not help us."
