JULY 2002
(1 John 3:16-18,NKJV): By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we
also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But
whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need,
and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love
of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love
in word or in tongue, but in deed and in
truth. This is the scripture that compels
us. |
July, 2002 Greetings,
This month I
wish to introduce you to the Rac Lay Tribal People in Vietnam. The
Rac Lay I have been introduced to live in the mountains south of Nha
Trang. When Pastor Vo Cuong began to visit these tribal people they
were very poor. He introduced many to our Lord Jesus Christ. Soon
many would begin the long trip down the sides of the mountains to
attend Pastor Cuong's church. Most had to walk, often leaving their
mountain home at 1 A.M. to arrive on time. As more and more turned
to the Lord, God began to help them. They are not rich, but God has
guided in ways that now allow many to buy motorbikes, and others can
rent a small truck to bring them to church and return them home.
They often come on Saturday now where they study the Bible, and stay
over until Sunday. Pastor Cuong and his wife, Hay, provide food for
them and regularly provide rations of rice or noodles to the poorer
ones.
Above you see the Rac Lay as
they worship, Pastor Cuong has trained one of the Rac Lay Men to
lead in worship and trained both men and women to conduct Bible
studies during the week. Also pictured above is a young mother, her
children and grandmother going up to dedicate her new baby to the
Lord.

To the left you see Rac Lay young
people practicing singing. They practice after church in
another part of the building.
Pastor Cuong's church
only holds 120 people. Often they crowd in over 200. About 200
Rac Lay have worship first, and the service is translated into
their language.
After their service is over, the
Vietnamese come to worship. |
To the right we see the Rac
Lay as they leave church to return to their mountain homes.
Pastor Cuong needs more help. He needs a larger Church. The
Rac Lay are better off now, then a few years ago, but many
still cannot send their children to School.
Please pray
for this tribe and the over 70 other tribes in Vietnam. Many
are turning to the Lord by the hundreds, but they need our
help. Many are persecuted for their faith. Some are tortured or
imprisoned. |

 | This next year
will be a time of many decisions. The most important is to continue
the work in Danang and Quang Nam, or is God stretching us to move
out to additional areas so soon, or out of Danang altogether. We
need your prayers desperately. The Thao Dan Street Children Program
in Saigon has invited us to come work with them as has Tinh Phuoc in
Quang Nam. We are also waiting for approval from the IRS for tax
exempt status so that those of you living outside of Florida will
receive a tax deduction for your gifts. (Your gift will be
tax-deductible, however, if you donate through your church.)
GOD BLESS YOU ALL. AND THANK YOU FOR READING OUR
NEWSLETTERS, FOR PRAYING FOR US AND THE VIETNAMESE PEOPLE, AND FOR
YOUR GIFTS, BOTH BIG AND SMALL. WE CANNOT DO IT WITHOUT YOU.
God bless you, Reggie
